Liverpool – City Overview Liverpool is a fast growing, modern, cosmopolitan and dynamic city in Northwest England, and with a population of 447,500 is the sixth largest city in the UK.
The city is well connected by rail, road, sea and air - offering easy access to all UK, European and international markets. Liverpool is well connected to the UK motorway network and has direct rail connections to London and other UK cities. Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) serves more than 70 destinations including daily flights throughout the UK and Europe. In 2008 a new daily direct service was launched to New York JFK, as well as a regular service to Toronto. Already one of the fastest growing regional airports in Europe, LJLA has carried 5 million passengers over 12 months and is set to treble in size by 2030.

The city itself is currently one of the largest regeneration projects in Europe. In its 798-year history, the city has never seen so much capital infrastructure spending. The Duke of Westminster and his company Grosvenor is spending the best part of a billion pounds rebuilding the city centre.
